Wedding Wednesday: Vendor Edition

Hello, and welcome back to Wedding Wednesday! Thanks for letting me take that much-needed break last week. This week we’ll be talking about researching vendors, who to consider, what’s a necessity, and alternatives to the pricier areas. If you’re someone who has an infinite budget, my advice to you is to just do exactly what you want. This isn’t really realistic for everyone, however.

The first thing to do here is to think back to the beginning of this saga. Decide what vendors are the MOST important to you. The vendors you know you’re going to want for sure and couldn’t imagine having a wedding without. To me, I prioritized food and having a videographer/photographer. With the vendors that you 100% know you’ll want for your wedding, I recommend finding/researching someone of good quality. This is also where you’ll want to set aside the necessary finances, so you don’t have to worry about it later.

When looking into vendors, I think a lot of people forget the importance of networking. Look into your friends, family, or any organizations you may be a part of. You’d be surprised how many people have a hidden talent/skill. We had a friend completely take care of the cakes for us just because he was passionate about baking. It saves you a ton of money doing it this way as well. Some people in the wedding industry criticize this tactic and call it “frendors.” I…
